My great grandfather was a cobbler, and I bet he never used rubber, it would be leather all the way, I expect.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13596754983215564299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3765023413892729996.post-36119559349177631502013-03-03T05:29:16.579+11:002013-03-03T05:29:16.579+11:00Dear Joy: How lovely to see some Canadian money in...Dear Joy: How lovely to see some Canadian money in your International selection! I've never seen a shoe last before, but I can imagine how vital it would be for repairs. And: from one postage stamper to another: that's a lovely one. When I quilted mine, I used a diagonal squiggle in some parts (sort of a vague half circle from corner to corner). For yours, you could do this too so you'd have meandering parallel curves going up and down the quilt. Just a suggestion - I'm sure you have more interesting ideas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3765023413892729996.post-62099544226905938412013-03-02T18:03:20.675+11:002013-03-02T18:03:20.675+11:00Love your quilt Joy. The shoe 'tool' is also in my parents' garage and can still remember Dad resoling and reheeling our shoes. Visits to the bookmaker were rare. That must have been a sickening experience with your plastic money. The real thing is certainly more colourful.mitchez2013https://www.blogger.com/profile/00848252157267943422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3765023413892729996.post-37184484354809291302013-03-02T13:23:45.149+11:002013-03-02T13:23:45.149+11:00Your "I" words are very impressive! You're to be commended for working on that small size to make something that big. Scrap quilts are always the best, and you've outdone us all.
